August 18 @ 2:35 pm - 3:35 pm UTC-7

Invited Talks

14:35 – 15:05: Integrated Photonics: Connectivity Innovation for the Data Center and beyond
Invited Speaker: James Jaussi, Intel

Come listen to James Jaussi, Director of PHY Research @ Intel Labs talk about how interconnects will change to keep up with the planet’s insatiable need for data. He will cover the background and motivation for this evolution and discuss technology and architecture changes that will occur with Optical Compute Interconnects.

15:05 – 15:35: Introducing Cloud-Native Supercomputing: Bare-Metal, Secured Supercomputing Architecture
Invited Speakers: Gilad Shainer (NVIDIA)

High-performance computing and artificial intelligence have evolved to be the primary data processing engines for wide commercial use, hosting a variety of users and applications. While providing the highest performance, supercomputers must also offer multi-tenancy security. Therefore they need to be designed as cloud-native platforms. The key element that enables this architecture is the data processing unit (DPU). DPU is a fully integrated data-center-on-a-chip platform that can manage the data center operating system instead of the host processor, enabling security and orchestration of the supercomputer. This architecture enables supercomputing platforms to deliver bare-metal performance, while natively supporting multi-node tenant isolation. We will introduce the new supercomputing architecture and include first applications performance results.
